While many new pop acts use social networking sites to fuel their success, new boyband Overload can actually thank YouTube and Twitter for their very creation.

Scouted after they all individually uploaded well-received performance videos online, the group – consisting of Jordi, Joey, Ollie and RyRy – were brought together from all over the UK and were given their name via their growing legions of fans on Twitter. Under the watchful eye of Union J manager Blair Dreelan, the boys (all aged between 17 and 19) have already racked up over half a million views on YouTube and recently drew a crowd of 700 when they did their first meet and greet in Westfield. Currently hard at work on their first album, the buzz surrounding this fledging group seems certain to grow.
